Detailed Information: Chow Chow

Originated from northern China, Chow is also known as  Songshi Quan  which means “puffy-lion dog”. It is also known as  Tang Quan which means  “Dog of the Tang Empire”. One most noticeable feature of this breed is they are aloof in nature to all but to few masters they are fierce yet loyal companion. They are serious-minded and catlike independent dog’s breed.

GENERAL APPEARANCE

Chow chow is  a muscular and  powerful breed with stocky appearance. Their coats can be seen on both smooth and rough  varieties. Black tongues and bushy tails are the distinguishing traits of Chow.  They have wide muzzle with broad heads accompanied by the triangular ears.

Body size and weight:  Body weight ranges from 20-35 kg and height 17-20 inches.

Fully Grown:

               Male: 25-32 kg

               Female: 20-27 kg
