Small, hardy and compact, Beagle is a small-sized breed of dogs which shares a common resemblance with larger foxhound. They were primarily developed for hunting hare and rabbits. They are sometimes used as a detecting dogs as they have great sense of smell and superior tracking power.
Beagle is intelligent yet single minded and liked by people due to its size, good temper and lack of inherited diseases. Guided by nose they are more happy to follow the interesting scents.
