Detailed Information: German Shepherd

German Shepherd is a breed of medium to large dogs which had originated in Germany. They fall under Herding group. As the name reflects, these breed are developed originally for herding sheep. Because of their intelligence, obedience, train-ability and strength these dogs are often preferred over other breeds in different sectors.

GENERAL APPEARANCE

They are considered as medium to large sized dogs. The standard height of male and female is (24-26) inch and (22-24)inch respectively. Their width is greater than height. That means they are longer than tall with the proportion of 10 to 8.5. Having dome-forehead, square-cut muzzle, strong jaws with black nose are some prime attributes of this breed. Besides these stuffs, their eyes are medium-sized brown in color, lively and self- assured in looks. They posses large ears which stand erect and get pulled back during movement.

Body size and weight: Males are 24-26 inches in heights and female are 22-24 inches and body weight ranges from 30-40 kg. They are longer than taller.

Fully Grown:

Male: 30-40 kg

Female: 22-33kg
