Detailed Information: Tibetan Mastiff

The Tibetan Mastiff also known as Drog-Khyi is better known as nomad dogs and was developed centuries ago in Tibet. Originally used as guard dogs for livestock and property in different parts of China, Nepal and India they also enjoy as family companion dogs. It is a large dog breed better known as for its loyalty and territorial to strangers.

GENERAL APPEARANCE

The primitive breed Tibetan Mastiff retains the hardiness which would be required to survive in the highlands of Tibet and mountainous terrains of Nepal, India and Bhutan. Their physical size is generally large ranging height of Males 30-33 inch and weighs about 55-90 kg. But, those enormous dogs produced in western China has the maximum weight record of 115 kg. They are taller, heavier, well muscled and better structured. Mastiffs are found with varieties of color including solid black, tan and various shades of red.

Body size and weight: Males are 66-76 cm in heights and female are 61-71 cm and body weight ranges from 35-75 kg. They are 2 feet to 2 feet, 2 feet tall at the shoulder.

Male: 45-75 kg

Female: 34-54 kg
